Mamluk Silver-Inlaid Brass Ewer, 14th Century
Description
A brass ewer of pear-shaped body and cylindrical neck, inlaid in silver and copper with bands of Mamluk thuluth interspersed with stellar medallions. The inscription carries the customary benediction of glory and victory upon its owner. Minor losses to the silver inlay as expected; the original handle is retained.
