How bidding works

1. Create an account Registration is free and takes under a minute. You'll need an email address and a contact phone number.

2. Browse and choose Every lot has a page carrying the full description, provenance, condition, estimate and closing time.

3. Bid your maximum You don't enter the amount you want to post — you enter the most you are willing to pay. The system then bids the smallest amount that keeps you in front, and never reveals your maximum to anyone.

For example: the current bid is 20,000 with a 1,000 increment. If you enter 30,000, only 21,000 is posted. If someone bids 25,000, your bid rises automatically to 26,000 — and so on, up to your limit.

4. Automatic extension A bid arriving in the closing minutes extends the closing time by that same window. This defeats last-second sniping and gives everyone a chance to answer.

5. Reserve price Some lots carry a reserve below which they will not sell. If bidding does not reach it, the lot goes unsold. The lot page tells you clearly where things stand.

6. If you win You receive an immediate notification and an email, and the lot appears in your account with the total due including the buyer's premium. Our team then contacts you to arrange payment and collection or shipping.
